About Us
Our Story
Since its founding in 1991, Gram Bikash Sangstha (GBS) has been a beacon of hope for the marginalized and underprivileged communities of northern Bangladesh. Rooted in Gabtoli upazila of Bogura District, GBS began its journey with a mission to empower Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and the extremely poor, especially women and girls facing violence and injustice.
Over the years, GBS has expanded its impact across multiple areas — from raising awareness and ensuring legal rights, to providing education, health services, livelihood support, and disaster resilience training. Through microfinance initiatives, vocational training, advocacy, and inclusive development programs, GBS has touched thousands of lives, helping individuals break the cycle of poverty and discrimination.
With a commitment to transparency, good governance, and human dignity, GBS continues to build stronger, more resilient communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
